AmeraFence:  A "Fence in a Box" - Questions & Answers

Question:  What is AmeraFence's "Fence in a Box?"

Answer:  AmeraFence's "Fence in a Box" is designed for ease of transportation and installation.  The specially designed boxes protect the fence from scratches and dents, also keeping the fence sections clean unlike other fence products which are stacked outside and can warp and become dirty.  The material is packaged in a maximum 18" wide by 6' length box, which compares favorably with the competitions' larger and heavier boxes.  Please note that post and gates are sold separately to assure the homeowner that they will not be paying for any extra and unnecessary materials.

AmeraFence's "Fence in a Box" is also designed for easy installation.  It is manufactured to be installed on 6' centers and can be easily and rapidly assembled by one person versus the competition's more labor-intensive installation.

Question:  What is the quality control assurance of AmeraFence's "Fence in a Box?"                                                                                                                                                   Answer:  AmeraFence is produced in a state-of-the-art and award winning manufacturing facility, which has a quality control system certified by the highly acclaimed ISO-9001 international standard.

Question:  How does AmeraFence's quality compare to the competition?                                            Answer:  AmeraFence is mono-extruded from 100% virgin vinyl and not co-extruded from many different recycled ingredients.  Mono-extrusion will provide for a complete and uniform piece of material, which provides consistent and long-lasting color as well as additional strength.  This process also puts ultraviolet inhibitors; called Titanium Dioxide, TIO2, which protect the vinyl from sunlight all the way through the product.  Mono-extrusion also protects the fence from scratching off the top layer to reveal the 2nd layer, a different color below.  Co-extrusion is a "sandwich-like" layered product, which can weaken and/or de-laminate over time.  Fence products which are co-extruded are made out of 2 concentric streams: an outer stream, called the capstock, containing ultraviolet inhibitors and an inside stream, called the substrate with reduced or no ultraviolet protection.  Many manufactures make the inside layer out of reground material that may be a different color than the outside layer.

Question:  What is the color retention assurance for AmeraFence?                                                      Answer:  AmeraFence is manufactured from the highest quality UV inhibitor and 100% virgin vinyl.  Dupont provides the TI02, UV-inhibitor, which is considered to be the very best in the industry.  The 100% virgin vinyl in AmeraFence is of the same as highly accepted PVC window profiles.  PVC window profiles must complete rigorous testing and performance standards to provide the consumer with the confidence that the appropriate amounts of coloring and plastic components have been mixed into the formulation in order to have a long-lasting fencing product.

Question:  What is the strength assurance for AmeraFence?                                                                Answer:  AmeraFence has been designed and engineered for the highest-possible strength ratings in the vinyl fencing industry.  It is robust and meets or exceeds all the appropriate ASTM standards.  Click here to download AmeraFence testing data.

Question:  Will AmeraFence rust or rot or need to be painted or re-stained?                                        Answer:  No.  AmeraFence does not have any wood or metal and will not, therefore, rust, rot or need to be painted or re-stained.

Question:  Is AmeraFence insect and termite resistant?                                                                          Answer:  Yes.

Question:  How is AmeraFence maintained?                                                                                       Answer:  If necessary, AmeraFence is easily maintained by washing with water and soap or any mild household detergent in order to keep it looking "clean and new".  For more serious stains, clean AmeraFence with an appropriate solution for vinyl products such as baking soda or Simple Green.

Question:  What is the AmeraFence Warranty?                                                                                    Answer:  AmeraFence has a 20-year transferable limited warranty, which will easily compete with the other warranties in the vinyl fence industry.  This is especially true after all their disclaimers are fully evaluated.  Click here to download a copy of the AmeraFence Warranty.

Question:  During installation, what should be done if the ground has slope?                                           Answer:  AmeraFence is specifically designed for installing on a slope grade up to 10 degrees.  For greater than 10 degrees, post may need to be modified on the tops and bottom using a fine blade saw.

Question:  During installation, what should be done if the post are too close together or too far apart?                                                                                                                                                   Answer:  AmeraFence specifically allows for a width up to 3" greater than 6'.  For post less than 6', the rails and panels can easily be trimmed down using a fine blade saw.  In addition, the u-channels that are included in each box will hide the edges.

Question:  During installation, what should be done if the posts have fully set in the concrete and are too high or too low?                                                                                                                                               Answer:  For best results, the posts should be pulled out and replaced in order to maintain its complete strength.
